Daniel Schwab, Conservationist and Community Leader in Wyoming

Daniel Schwab is an experienced businessman, conservationist, and community leader located in Afton, Wyoming. Daniel is the founder of several successful start-up companies aimed at fish and wildlife habitat restoration, including Terrawest Conservancy; Renegade Wyoming; and Feathered Hook, an exclusive private fly-fishing club.

A lifelong advocate of wildlife and nature, Daniel grew up hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather — an experience that deepened his respect for the environment around him. These experiences led Daniel to study business and financial management at Utah State University. Following his collegiate studies, he went on to establish numerous successful start-up companies, including one that specialized in ranch land restoration and preservation, specifically focused on fish and wildlife habitat restoration. By 2002, his companies possessed the most sought-after land in Wyoming, and were among the largest landowners in the state, possessing over 30,000 deeded acres and controlled over 100,000 acres through state and BLM leases.

From there, Daniel Schwab realized that he could leverage his success to help conserve the natural beauty of his state and those surrounding it. Today, he continues to dedicate himself to the improvement of both the natural environment and the lives of the people and creatures inhabiting it. At the same time, Daniel is committed to the betterment of his community; he has donated to dozens of charitable organizations and causes and helped fund multiple scholarships to support local students and athletes.

Daniel is also a longtime ranch owner who has owned and operated over 24 ranches located in Wyoming and Idaho. His 25 years of experience in property research, acquisition, restoration, preservation, and marketing and sales have aided him in buying and selling multiple properties for conservation easements. Currently, Daniel owns an 890-acre ranch in Big Piney, Wyoming.

Beyond work, Daniel remains an avid fisherman and has grown as a talented photographer — though he has never (and will never) sell his prints for a profit. He also enjoys spending time with his family.
